Is it expensive to study in Australia?Australia is the worlds most expensive destination for international students due to its high fees and high cost of living. International students spend more than $43,000 a year on an average to study at the Australian universities. Followed by the US with an average yearly cost of US$35,700 a year, and then the UK at £19,600. About a third of the total international students in the world, study in these 3 countries. Australian universities fees are almost similar to the fees in the US but the cost of living makes a big difference. A yearly average in Australia is more than $14,400. Despite Australia having a geographical advantage in attracting students from the Asia-Pacific region, the high cost of living was one of the major factors for foreign students while considering their study dream abroad. Keeping the same in mind, governments and education providers needed to take some action to increase the flow of students, given that there are various other expenses that the international students have to take care of in a foreign land, like travel cost, accommodation cost,. visa formalities, travel and health insurance, food , books etc. The education providers were asked to take action to address these concerns, which could include providing concessions and subsidies to the students.
